December Photo Project

December Eleven

I had some time tonight to bake my first batch of Christmas cookies.

I made the best ever chocolate chip cookies.  No really, they are called The Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies.  I borrowed the recipe from Edie at Life in Grace.  You can check it out here.

It makes alot.  The picture doesn't show the full batch.  You see, we each had one and I may or may not have snuck (is that a word?) an extra one and I may or may not have snuck some of the cookie dough.  It is the best cookie dough by the way.  So try the recipe, or better yet, swing on by and give one of mine a try.  That is of course if I have any left.  :)

So, have you had time to do any Christmas baking yet?

December Photo Project

December Eight

I had the fun of hanging the outdoor Christmas lights with my boys today.  Usually my husband does it, but he had other things to do today, so I jumped in to help.  My oldest son has really started enjoying hanging the lights, so he helped plan how it would look.  I think he did a great job.  He was excited when we purchased a string of "70's" bulbs, and decided to wrap them around our porch post.

It was great fun and didn't take much time at all.  That's the best kind of project.  Not to mention doing it with your children.  :)

Jumping in here at the last minute to share my DPP with you.

Lovin this new plate that found it's way to my front porch tonight.  What do you think?  Want to come over and have coffee over this plate of cookies?

I got to hear my son reading tonight (homework) and we finally got to read a Christmas book.  His choice.  Always a pleasure hearing your children read.

December Photo Project

December Five

Just poppin in tonight with my DPP photo.

I was out and about today and picked this up for my "newly in-the-middle-of-remodeling" bathroom.  I had a soap dispenser already.  A lovely one, until it was bumped and broken.  :(  Anyway, for weeks I've been using a cheap plastic one.  No big deal, but not to my liking.  I was very pleased to finally be able to get out today and look for a replacement.  I decided to go ahead and purchase the plate too.  I thought maybe it would help from being bumped again.  We'll see.

I know this photo may lack a little pizazz, but this was part of my day today and something I was very happy to finally put an end to, so it made it to the DPP.  I don't blame you if you decide right here and now to never come back to this blog again.  But please do.  I want to get some of my christmas photos up soon.  And what fun would it be if you didn't stick around to see them?  Okay?

To see more of the DPP visit here.

December Photo Project

December Four

Well, I'm 4 days in and already have missed a day.  Good start huh?  So sorry about that.

Let's get on with the fun.  Shall we?

Today the temperature reached nearly 70 degrees.  Shew that's warm.  Especially for December.  My nephew was here for a little while this evening  (the one in the red pants)  Anyway, my two boys and he were outside playing.  Water gun wars!!  Who'd have thought?  In December?

See you tomorrow.

December Two

Do you see who I caught "hanging out" near my dining room Christmas tree?  Not sure why he's there, but I'm pretty sure I know "who" put him there.  :)  No doubt Mr. Turkey is relieved he survived thanksgiving.

For more DPP go here.  Thanks for checking in.  See you tomorrow.

December Photo Project

I decided to join in on the December Photo Project.  To see where the DPP was born, head on over here.

~~~
December One
I've had my Christmas decorations up for about a week, but my sorry looking wreath needed a little help.  Here is what it looked like before I started.
I used berries and bells from another old wreath that too had seen better days.  I added a bow to give it a little punch of color, and paired it with a frosted snowflake behind the wreath for added fun.
Took all of about 20 minutes.  It's been on my to-do list all week and I finally found a few extra minutes to put it together.  I'm happy with the outcome.  Not bad for free!!  So, here's my official DPP photo for today....
A new baby is born!!
Okay, so I didn't have a baby.  Just an idea.  I've been wanting to launch this blog for a long time, but just wasn't sure about it.  Well, I finally decided to go for it.  It's still a work in progress and will take quite a bit of tweaking, but in time it will be just right.
My vision for this blog is to share how I am turning my house into our primitive home.  I like to think I have some decorating skills, but I don't know for sure.  What I do know is that I enjoy decorating, rearranging, organinzing, cleaning, whatever it takes to make this house feel more like home.  My favorite thing is to use antiques and primitive finds to "pretty" up this place.
Home is my favorite place to be, so come.  Sit and stay awhile.  Please.  Share with me what your taste is and what works in your home.  I'm always looking for ideas.  May this be a place you come to find a quiet moment of peace from the fast-paced everyday life.
See ya soon.  I'll be starting with the December Photo Project.  So come on back.  ;)
